The mist is very light-weight and I haven't noticed any staining from residue so it's safe to use when clothed etc.. I like that it has conditioning/protecting properties as well. Not bad, helps hair to be smooth when I use heat on the hair. I use a few other products to help combat brassiness and in conjunction it works but I don't think it's a stand alone product.
