What Age Do Eyebrows Go Grey?
White and grey eyebrows are often seen as a sign of ageing. The older we get, the less melanin is found in our hair, causing it to appear a different colour. The speed with which this takes place varies from person to person.
Generally, people start seeing grey hairs appear around their forties and fifties, but some can experience greying as early as their twenties or thirties. Unfortunately, it is all down to genetics, so there’s no way to predict when grey or white eyebrows will appear.
There is also no guaranteed way to reverse this change, yet there are options to cover grey strands.
How to Cover Grey Eyebrows
There are many ways that you can conceal and cover grey eyebrows. Here are a few suggestions to keep your look youthful.
1. Create a Shape
Before you do anything with your grey eyebrows, shape them. If you’ve been neglecting your brows, start from scratch. This is the perfect place to start if you are wondering how to cover grey eyebrows.
Fill them in with a brow pencil to create the shape you want. Then pluck anything that falls outside the line. Eyebrow stencils can be particularly helpful in this phase.
Remember, less is more. You can always pluck more later, but you can’t regrow hair instantly if you get overzealous!
Don't go crazy plucking grey hairs. If you have thinning brows, you want to keep all the hairs you can. Plucking the hair just removes the grey temporarily until another grey hair grows back in its place.
If you're plagued by bushy brows, brush or comb hairs upwards and carefully trim above the brow line only. Don't clip hairs too short, as it's difficult to camouflage stubble.
Remember, a stylist is only as good as their accessories and tools. Our favourite tool to use is the Tweezerman Slant Tweezer in Stainless Steel.
