What does clean beauty mean, though, and what is a clean supplement? Great, great questions.

So first off, we define ‘clean beauty’ as products which are:

• Cruelty free
• Paraben free
• Sulfate free - SLS, SLES
• Mineral oil free
• Phthalate free
• Polyethylene free (no mircobeads)
• Formaldehyde free

And when it comes to supplements, to qualify as clean they must have:

• No artificial flavours
• No artificial colouring
• No palm oil or palm-derived ingredients
• No titanium dioxide
• No anti-caking agents
• Heavy metal limits - no higher than below:
• Arsenic 1.5mcg/g
• Cadmium 0.5 mcg/g
• Lead 0.5 mcg/g
• Mercury 1.5 mcg/g

Which all probably sounds a bit full on, but essentially means they’ve been formulated with an eye for both efficacy and ethics. If it’s going in your hot bod, you want to know what’s in it. Very fair enough, we think.
