Shop Makeup For Dry Skin

Finding the right makeup for dry skin is essential - it's surprising how many formulas can cling unflatteringly to dry areas, or look too "flat" rather than like skin. Those of us with dry skin at Adore Beauty have put together a list of our favourite products.

From light coverage to full, from primers to setting sprays, we've got dry skin covered. After moisturising, apply a primer made to hydrate the skin. This will keep your skin from looking flat or full throughout the day, while really locking in your makeup. Try going for a lighter coverage foundation with a dewy finish, and go back in with a high coverage concealer over any blemishes.

If your skin is too dry for powder, skip it completely! Or if you still get an oily T-zone, only apply powder where you need it. Try using a mineral powder over the top of tinted moisturiser, which will add just a bit of coverage but wont completely mattify your face.

And speaking of, try giving mineral powder a shot! Many new-generation mineral powders are made with skincare ingredients and emollients, so you may be very surprised at how flattering and hydrating they are.

A cream blush and contour will add dimension and colour. Look for creams that have a transparent base - think more like a jelly than a cream. Or try a liquid tint, which will last all day and give you a natural looking flush.

Don't forget - there are hydrating setting sprays that leave you with a dewy, hydrated finish and keep your makeup looking fresh.

Decent primer

I purchased the strobe cream in shade Goldlite after recommendations from an adore beauty specialist. I used it a few times as a primer, now use it over the top of my moisturiser on days I don’t wear make up. It gives a very subtle luminous glow when worn alone, however I feel it made my makeup oily much earlier in the day then with other primers. A nice product, but not something I’d repurchase. ...

Good CC cream

I ordered this after waiting for it to come into stock again in the mini size. I went with shade light following the colour matching, however feel it may be a tad too dark (I have fair skin). Even with the slighter darker colour, it is a great cc cream. It’s lightweight, applies so easily, covers my red spots and discolouration, and stays on for the day. Definitely needs a powder to set in my opin...
