Keeping makeup locked in place all day takes effort and skill. Our three-step guide to high-endurance makeup will help your client look flawless all day long.
Step 1: A Proper Prep
It all starts with skincare. After all, you wouldn't want to paint the Mona Lisa on a breezeblock wall. Beautiful artwork needs a proper canvas.
Ensure your client’s skin is properly cleansed and moisturised before putting anything else on his or her skin. Dehydration makes makeup either go on unevenly or slide off when skin produces excess oil to overcompensate.

Step 2: Primer
It's hard to imagine how everybody lived without primer just a few short years ago. Primer is the glue that holds a makeup look together. While isn't actual glue, it works just about as well to grip makeup all day. Try one of the following long-wear primers for lasting perfection:
Step 3: Ready, Set, and Set Some More
A setting powder, such as Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder, is best concentrated on the oiliest areas of your client’s face. For another solid option, try Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent. This cult favourite is well loved amongst makeup artists as well.
A setting spray can be spritzed all over the face after you’re done applying all cosmetics. A good spray locks everything in place and keeps colours and formulas from transferring or migrating. Skindinavia Bridal Makeup Finish is meant to last through sweat, tears, and lots of photos, so it's a perfect choice.
If you implementing these three steps, you’re in great shape to create a look that lasts through just about anything!
