This routine is great for anyone who works long hours or just simply hates reapplying makeup throughout the day.

Our MUA’s Tips:

  • Always do your eye makeup first so you don’t ruin your base if you experience fall out from your eyeshadows.

  • Try to match your foundation shade to your neck and body.

  • If you want to sheer out the coverage of a product, buff it in using longer, circular motions. If you prefer the product to be more packed on in certain areas, pat and stipple the product where you would like it to be concentrated.

  • The Kryolan TV Paintstick is a foundation that absolutely needs to be set! So, try not to skip this step if you want to see this foundation perform it’s best. If you are oily, Megan recommends you set your whole face.

Megan’s base makeup guide for beginners:

Step 1: Prime the skin for perfection

Step 1: Prime the skin for perfection

Prime the skin using the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer - GOLD. This hydrating and smoothing primer makes a great base for your foundation. Use your hands to apply this product as it helps the product merge with your skin.

Step 2: Make a fountation cocktail

Step 2: Make a fountation cocktail

First, take a pump of the MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Foundation onto the back of your hand. Then take a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and dip it into the Kryolan TV Paintstick before mixing it in with the foundation on your hand.

Step 3: Buff on the product

Step 3: Buff on the product

Using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush buff on your foundation cocktail from your hand using circular motions. If you have any excess, buff it onto the other side of your hand before applying it. Start with a lighter coverage, as you can always build up as you go.

Step 4: Spot on concealer

Step 4: Spot on concealer

Megan uses the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eye Eraser to areas she needs it, straight from the products sponge applicator. This includes her under eyes, chin and the centre of her forehead. She then blends the concealer out with the Real Techniques Setting Brush.

Step 5: Set it with powder

Step 5: Set it with powder

Take some of the MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Finish Powder Foundation on a large fluffy brush and first dust it on the places your generally crease or get oily in. Megan first goes in under the eyes lightly, then her t-zone and finally her chin.

Step 6: An all day fix

Step 6: An all day fix

Set your makeup and help it merge with the skin using the M.A.C COSMETICS Prep + Prime Fix+. Simply spritz the product all over your face at the end of the look. This will also add luminosity to the skin.

How long does makeup last?

How long your makeup lasts totally depends on the products you choose, your application method and your skin type.

In this routine Megan shows us her top longwear products and techniques that work for her normal-dry skin. Just remember oily skin always needs a bit of help keeping things fresh and matte throughout the day, and dry skin needs a more hydrating formulation to stay smooth!
