Megan’s Quick Natural Makeup Tutorial For Normal-Dry Skin

Need a quick and simple makeup look to throw on just before you leave the house, or go into your next Zoom meeting?

In this routine, Megan Miloshis from our Social and Content Team shows you how to put a cute look together when you’re low on time.

This look is easy to replicate at home and can be achieved by using your favourite products from Adore Beauty.

Megan’s Quick Tips:

Skincare prep is the key to creating a luminous base, so start your look with hydrating products like a Vitamin B serum or a Hyaluronic acid

  • Target your primers to your concern area. For example, if you get oily of your T-Zone, use a mattifying primer on this area, and if you get dry on your cheeks, use a hydrating primer there.

  • When using cream products always start lightly, as you can always build up the product in light layers.

How do I get a natural makeup look?

Achieving a natural makeup look is all about minimal coverage, a glowing complexion and using neutral tones.

In this routine, Megan shows us how you can achieve this look quickly with some of her favourite Adore Beauty products.

This luminous look is perfect for people of all ages, who want to accentuate their inner glow.

Megan’s guide to quick, easy makeup:

Step 1: Create a smooth and hydrated base

Step 1: Create a smooth and hydrated base

There are a few ways Megan suggests you can make a smooth and hydrated base for flawless makeup application. The first is by using hydrating and nourishing skincare like a Vitamin B serum or a Hyaluronic acid. The next option is a hydrating primer like the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer - GOLD which plumps and smooths the skin. However, if you’re going for a daytime look you can always stick to a priming SPF like the Ultra Violette Supreme Screen SPF 50+ Hydrating Facial Sunscreen for perfection, with the added protection!

Step 2: Luminous finish foundation

Step 2: Luminous finish foundation

The next product Megan uses is the Designer Brands Hydrating Luminous Foundation for a light, glowing base. Squirt one pump onto the back of your hand or palette and take a buffing brush like MAKE UP FOR EVER Buffing Foundation Brush N112 to blend the product into the skin.

Step 3: Creamy concealer

Step 3: Creamy concealer

Conceal your under eye area with cult favourite concealer, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. Apply to the under eye area and eyelids with the doe foot applicator and blend in with your fingers or a fluffy setting brush.

Step 4: Setting power

Step 4: Setting power

Set your entire eye area using the MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Loose Translucent Powder. This finely milled powder is great for dry skin and does not accentuate dry patches. Apply with a small fluffy setting brush like the Real Techniques Setting Brush

Step 5: Cream blush

Step 5: Cream blush

Take a pea-sized amount of the ICONIC London Sheer Blush in “Fearless Flush” onto the back of your hand or palette and pick it up with the Real Techniques Sculpting Brush before blending it into the apples of your cheeks. Use a stippling motion at first before blending the product back towards your temples. Add any excess to the sides of your nose for a natural sunkissed look.

Step 6: Everyday eye

Step 6: Everyday eye

For a simple, everyday eye look take some of the Benefit Hoola Lite Matte Bronzer and blend it into the crease with the INIKA Blending Brush. This creates a slight definition.

Step 7: Voluminous mascara

Step 7: Voluminous mascara

Coat your lashes with the Eye Of Horus Goddess Mascara for mega volume. This mascara will help separate and elongate the lashes.

Step 8: Brow set

Step 8: Brow set

Comb up your brows with a clear brow gel like the R+Co Magic Wand Brow Gel. Wipe off any excess gel before you apply this product.

Step 9: Line and shine

Step 9: Line and shine

Lightly line the centre of your lips with the Designer Brands Pigment Pout Longwear Lip Liner in “Blushing Nude”, and then go over this with the Lanolips 101 Ointment Multi-balm - Peach for some subtle shine.
