Nice texture!

Liv

I like this sunscreen! I got it after using the supreme screen queen and found that was a bit oily - this is nice and matte option. The smell isn’t good but if you can get over that, it’s bloody great.

Most Helpful Criticism

Not for me

Rachel

I’m sad because I love this product, I have been looking for a physical sunscreen that will not leave greasy finish and white cast and this product has it all. Unfortunately, it breaks me out every time I use it, I don’t have problems with other physical sunscreen and it’s quite drying as well !
  1. Nice texture!

    Liv

I like this sunscreen! I got it after using the supreme screen queen and found that was a bit oily - this is nice and matte option. The smell isn’t good but if you can get over that, it’s bloody great.
  2. Good sunscreen

    Emma

As some other reviews have mentioned, this sunscreen does have an odd smell when you first apply it but it goes away within a few minutes. It applies nicely, only leaves a very slight white cast (which doesn't bother me as i usually follow with tinted moisturiser or foundation). It definitely leaves the skin nice and matte! Would be perfect for particularly oily skins.
  3. Finally a great SPF for oily skin!

    Claire

I have tried so many brands of SPF facial creams for oily skin and have never found one that works. They leave my oily skin with that shiny, white cast and just don't look good at all.
But finally I have found one that works! This product is amazing. It really does have a matte finish and actually feels like it is getting into my skin properly rather than just sitting as an oil slick on the surface. It does not clog my pores at all and actually feels like it is treating my skin as well.
I don't wear foundation or makeup day to day, so I don't know how it goes underneath makeup but on it's own I absolutely love it. I use a vitamin b serum underneath and this product goes over the top of it beautifully. My skin is looking so healthy.
This will now be a staple in my skincare routine.
  4. Good

    Sarah

It is not the easiest to apply and takes times with application. However, it does not irritate my sensitive skin and goes well under makeup
  5. Pleasantly Surprised but not loving the smell

    Amber

For a physical and zinc-based sunscreen this stuff is excellent. It's not thick, goopy and 'ghosting' like so many other physical sunscreens are. Sinks into skin beautifully. Probably wouldn't wear it under make up but great for the days that I plan to be outdoors and at the beach etc. Only thing is the smell is not great but then again no real physical sunscreens are. Would def buy again.
  6. Love

    Maddison

Really lovely product, It’s a slightly tinted sun cream and primer. Goes beautifully under make up.
  7. Really good

    Lindsey

I use this everyday! I find initially when I put it on it looks like it’s leaving a white cast but it goes away as you rub into skin, definitely has a matte finish but still feels really hydrating on the skin. Could do without the scent but I find it dissipates throughout the day
  8. Great Brand

    woolley

Love this brand. A nice light weight sunscreen that doesn’t make your skin feel greasy but I found this one was not as easy to rub in as the supreme screen and is only spf30. Will stick to the supreme screen in future.
  9. Really good

    Lucy

This thin textured physical sunscreen is perfect for me. I have oily skin and this mattifies just enough without drying. Great makeup base. Will definitely re-buy.
  10. Favorite Sunscreen Thus Far

    Tabz

To say that this is the best sunscreen is a bit of an understatement, I have used other non-drugstore high-end sunscreens before and they had done the trick but the Ultra Viollette has changed my mind and standard.

It leaves no residual sunscreen feeling to my face, smells amazing, texture is light and airy and a little bit goes a very long way ! Easy to apply and easy to dispense and the bottle is so easy to carry in my bag for on the go. Honestly I can't even feel it on my face after applying, it absorbs and dries so quick and doubles as a base product under makeup.

This sunscreen has been amazing because it leaves no white cast it is great as the final step in my skincare. Can not recommend enough, especially for those with combination type skin like me, my face is not even a bit shiny come the end of my day :)
  11. Pills really badly

    Elisa

Unfortunately this was a terrible product for me. I use vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and moisturiser daily and when I put Clean Screen on top, it pills really badly. It’s especially bad around the hairline and makes me look like I’ve got dandruff. I’ve tried waiting for longer periods of time between moisturising and Clean Screen and I’ve tried putting it on with different methods like patting, massaging and swiping it on but nothing has worked. If it’s not rubbed in properly it leaves white marks on your face (but rubbing it causes even more pilling).

The smell was unpleasant the first few times i used it but I slowly became accustomed to it. It definitely left my face more matte throughout the day than Queen Screen.
  12. Good but drying

    Liz

I was excited to use this mineral SPF and enjoyed putting it on as it smells fresh and sinks in beautifully! After a few days of using and reapplying regularly while travelling I found it to be quite drying though.
  13. Not for me

    Rachel

I’m sad because I love this product, I have been looking for a physical sunscreen that will not leave greasy finish and white cast and this product has it all. Unfortunately, it breaks me out every time I use it, I don’t have problems with other physical sunscreen and it’s quite drying as well !
  14. Best Physical Sunscreen but very drying

    Maya’s skin

Brief: best physical/mineral sunscreen I have tried as it absorbs well, doesn’t leave a very obvious grey/white sheen on skin and no harsh additives (sulfates, parabens, silicones).

Packaging: cute and easy to dispense sunscreen, easily fits into any handbag. Not very much sunscreen considering the price. I’d like a larger size and recyclable material as I wear sunscreen everyday.

Texture: smooth creamy consistency, really absorbs well and you can wear it as a primer. It didn’t make my make-up slide and was definitely not greasy, and mattified my combo skin.

Scent: only noticeable at the start, it smells like old boiled cabbage to me - but it really does fade away after 30 seconds. My nose is very sensitive, so unsure if other reviewers may have had a different batch.

Overall: I have dry combo sensitive skin, this sunscreen absorbs well but please know that zinc is a natural astringent (as in absorbs moisture), so my skin became very dry after 3 hours. I had to wash the sunscreen off, and use a balm to replenish my skin again. It also did give me a slightly grey look (on brown skin though) - not a fan of the grey sheen from physical sunblocks.

I returned the product to try supreme screen (a chemical sunscreen, which i’m not a fan of, but my skin could not handle the physical sunscreens including this one).
  15. Love the texture - really dislike the scent.

    valentina

The texture of this product is fabulous - really light and applies beautifully. What I don’t like at all is the scent which is overpowering upon application. To me, it doesn’t smell like roses - it smells like a fake rose air freshener which is meant to mask a bad smell - but the bad smell wins through. I actually need to hold my breath for a minute until the scent wears away. Such a shame as I love the product otherwise. May try another product in the range if the scent is different.
  16. Almost perfect!

    Ann3000

Basically everything you could possibly ask for in a mineral sunscreen. I have very sensitive skin so pleased there was no irritation. It has a very nice matte finish and no white cast - almost impossible to find until now!! My only very small gripe is with the smell, which is a more personal preference I guess. But its basically perfect in every other way. Worth spending the money on!!
  17. Great product, funny smell

    Alana

I’m not a fan of the scent of this one, however I like the product itself. It’s a slightly tinted sun cream and primer. Goes beautifully under make up. The smell doesn’t hand around for long and it’s the only downfall.
  18. Love Love LOVE

    Tan

I've battled to get the right sunscreen to work for my oily face (as well as one that's mineral based) - and this is it. This is the first product that hasn't left my face shiny or greasy, and I can even skip blotting my make up mid afternoon. I'm not a fan of the smell, but I've adjusted - it's a small annoyance for a product that works so well compared to everything else I've tried.
  19. Definite re-purchase

    Chloe

I love this sunscreen! I am allergic to chemical sunscreens and this is the best physical I've come across. It provides great protection with a glowy finish and doesn't break me out. The only negative for me is the smell but it's not a dealbreaker..
  20. Great for oily or Rosacea prone skin

    Mac

I use this on makeup-free days, I don't find that it plays well with my makeup however this could be the cosmetics I use (which otherwise agree with my skin really well) so don't take it as a criticism of this product.
On days where I don't wear makeup this is my go-to, don't leave home without it!
I quite like the scent, and it sits well on my skin and noticeably settles my Rosacea and redness and prevents further sun damage and burning when outdoors which only exacerbates my skin if it is exposed. I had hoped to add it into my makeup routine but still would recommend based on the effectiveness on redness and oily skin on makeup free days.
  21. Not For Me

    Kira

I wanted to love this sunscreen. I used it once and I couldn't get past the strong scent. It lingered throughout the whole day. I could literally smell my face and it was giving me a headache. I also found it didn't mattify my skin at all and made me look more shiny. I loved the idea of this product, but sadly it just didn't work for me. I will definitely try some of their other sunscreens though to see if they suit me better!
  22. Nice sunscreen with a disgusting smell

    Alice

Bought the SPF 30 as I also have the SPF 50. Wish I hadn't bothered, the smell is disgusting.
  23. Great sunscreen, gross smell

    Elena

I really wanted a mineral sunscreen and I was so excited to try this one. It does what it says, it works really well and doesn't make your face shiny. It also doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. Unfortunately this sunscreen smells really off-putting, so much so that I can't use it on my face, which is annoying because that's what I bought it for. Will not buy again unless an unscented version comes out.
  24. Doesn't make me break out!

    Gem

This sunscreen definitely lives up to the hype. I used to hate wearing sunscreen under makeup as it would ALWAYS make me break out. But this one has turned me into a religious sunscreen all-day-ever- day gal!
  25. Perfect!!

    Steph

I have oily skin and until I found this I was never able to wear sunscreen under my makeup, it would just end up looking terrible. I love this and use it everyday. It’s perfect for wearing under makeup or by itself. I’m so happy I found this and so is my skin.
  26. Great

    Alice

This sunscreen does not feel oily and it does not leave behind a white cast. Great for sensitive skin
  27. Very good but not amazing

    Rachael

I do like it. It’s very light and doesn’t dry out too much.

However I do get a bit of an oily sheen after first applying. I do find after a period of time it seems to soak in and become more matte.

It’s good under makeup however and very good for sensitive skin. I have quite sensitive skin and have no issues at all
  28. Does not sit well under my foundation

    Amy

I wanted to love this sunscreen, but sadly it doesn't work for my everyday routine. It doesnt matter what moisturiser or foundation i use, when I use this it always seems to break up my foundation on my skin.
It does feel lovely on my skin and absorbs right in, however I wanted it as an everyday sunscreen and it just doesn't work with my foundations. Will keep to use on days at the beach and pool.
  29. Decidedly average.

    Missa

As far as mineral sunscreens go, this one is okay. The tint is fine and there’s no white cast. It’s not as matte as I would like and the smell is quite overpowering and it didn’t dissipate even after several hours.
  30. Best sunscreen I’ve ever tried

    Tanya

I use to hate wearing sunscreen on my face because they would all make me oily after 1 hour. After I heard all the hype about this brand I gave it a try and wow. It does what it says by leaving a matifying feel and is also great for my sensitive skin would highly recommend
  31. Amazing

    paula

This is the best physical sunscreen I have ever used. No white cast and doesn't break me out! It is a pleasure to apply :)
  32. Good sunscreen

    Mark

This is a good sunscreen but I would advise being very careful around the eyes as it does really sting. For that reason, maybe not the best on days you are going to be active/sweaty
  33. Lovely sunscreen but too fragranced

    Laura

Lovely sunscreen - I've been using the recommended 1/4 tsp for face (=4-5 pumps)

    Pros:
It is a matte finish, I have dry skin but don't find it too drying (but I use moisturiser underneath)
Being a physical screen there is a slight white caste initially but I find it sinks in well (I am fair-light skinned though)
Sits well with my moisturiser & other skincare - no pilling/balling
I have had no irritation or breakouts (& can be sensitive to some sunscreens). I do ensure I properly cleanse in the evenings.

    Cons:
Too fragranced for me - the Supreme Screen is less fragranced
    SPF50 would be better!
  34. combine this and Supreme screen for the perfect product

    ALyson

Nice physical sunscreen but a tiny bit drying, maybe better for summer. I personally use this on my T Zone and Supreme screen everywhere else on my face, a combined product would be great.
  35. Great on my oily skin

    Harmonie

I've been searching for a sunscreen that won't exacerbate my oily skin for what feels likes an eternity. I have now found it (thanks to the help of Adore's online chat).
This goes on nicely, doesn't pill under foundation or BB cream. Even better, when worn alone, my skin stays nicely matte all day - previously unheard of. It doesn't irritate my skin or my sensitive eyes at all.
It held up under a sweaty exercise session without irritating my eyes or going shiny, so it's a win for me.
  36. Lovely everyday sunscreen

    Kelly

This sunscreen is so beautiful and amazing for everyday wear. I have quite oily skin and this really helped to neutralise my skin all day. The smell isn’t great but it goes away quick!
  37. Really nice, but too drying

    Maggie

This is a really lovely mineral SPF - not thick, not white (even when using the proper amount!) and while it does have a botanical scent that goes away pretty quickly. Unfortunately, it dries my skin out, makes my skin a bit warm and tingly, and also has caused a couple of break outs which is highly unusual for me. I wish I could return/exchange but sadly cannot. I would still recommend this to people to try if they want a mineral SPF that is elegant, but would also suggest definitely using something hydrating/moisturising underneath it. My skin is combo-dehydrated. I will probably use this on my body.
  38. My holy grail sunscreen.

    Nissa

Finally I found my favourite sunscreen. It's definitely not greasy, absorbed well to your skin quickly, not heavy nor sticky. It feels good on your skin and subtle smell. Everything that I wanted in this tube. It does not dry my forehead or corner of my nose, which other brands normally do to my combination skin. It keeps my T zone area matte. I love it!
  39. Amazing for oily skin!

    Dani

I have very oily skin so I am constantly scared of putting anything on my face in fear that it will break me out. After this was recommended to me by a family member I decided to give it a go and am so pleasantly surprised with the results! A little goes a long way and my skin doesn’t feel oily by the end of the day! It does have a scent which I don’t mind, and I honestly don’t notice it after it’s applied. Officially a staple of my every day routine
  40. Good

    Sarah

I love that this is a mineral sunscreen and it does not leave a white cast so recommend it
  41. Great for oily skin

    Paris

I recently purchased this and I have to admit; I'm in my late 20s with medium skin tone and I have NEVER worn sunscreen on my face. I used to be a tanning enthusiast but now than I'm closer to 30, I want to start looking after my skin. This sunscreen has a floral rose scent which some might not like but I'm not really sensitive to smells. It leaves a matte finish and the tiny amount of white cast goes away after it's rubbed in. Will definitely repurchase this.
  42. New Favourite

    Holly

Game changer! This sunscreen is great for oily skin types, it's perfect under makeup or even on it's own! It gives a nice smooth finish and I find it sinks into my skin nicely. I have tried that many different sunscreens for oily skin and can finally say I have found a winner! Probably the only downside is the smell, but it quickly fades away once applied.
  43. Fragrance is a let down

    Lucy

I have oily skin and this sunscreen blends beautifully and kind of smooths out the skin, giving a really natural finish. I really wish they would take out the perfume though because it's really sickly and personally I would rather a sunscreen smell. It's definitely not fragrance free like some people have said. Also I don't think 1 pump is enough to sufficiently protect your face from the sun, but I could be wrong.
  44. Doesn’t work for me :(

    Lucy

I really wanted to this to work but it just ballad up on my skin no matter what moisturiser I use underneath or foundation over top - it just doesn’t like my skin (oily and acne prone). It also has a distinct unpleasant smell (not off or out of date just whatever fragrance they’ve used). The search continues for the perfect sunscreen :(
  45. A great physical sunscreen

    Hannah_N

Pros: high SPF, physical sunscreen that blocks out UVA and UVB rays, wears beautifully under makeup and not shiny.
Cons: it does smell like sunscreen (which personally doesn't bother me but might some people), and my reactive skin felt a bit tingly when I applied it. This didn't last long though.
I would repurchase Clean Screen for sure.
  46. favourite sunscreen!

    Ellaa

I have very oily skin which is acne prone. Every sunscreen I use breaks me out but i decided to give this sunscreen a chance. It did not cause any breakouts, it leaves the slightest white cast on my skin but disappears and fully absorbs within 30 seconds - a minute. It does have a smell but I personally don't mind it. this sunscreen is definitely worth and a little goes a long way. I use one pump for my whole face.
  47. Nice texture, not a great smell

    Amelia

I wanted to try this as it's a physical sunscreen. I have fairly oily skin and this sunscreen sat well and left a matte finish. I wasn't keen on the scent though.
  48. LOVE

    Alysia

This is the best sunscreen ever! I've tried so many and thus stuff is the holy trail. It's lightweight, non sticky and absorbs quickly. Make up sits nice over it.
    10/10
  49. Execellent Product. Love this Sunscreen.

    serge

I have oily skin and have been searching for a mineral zinc oxide based sunscreen that dosen't leave a shine or white cast. This is the one! It has a light texture that easily absorbs into the skin without much fuss. And it does exactly what it says by leaving a natural matte finish that lasts for hours.I would highly recommend this product!
  50. GREAT FOR SENSITIVE SKIN!

    JENNIFER

I’ve been looking for a physical sunscreen for my dry combination and sensitive skin for a while, and finally found something that won’t irritate or clog up my pores!
It also doesn’t migrate into your eyes which is great for hot days. And no smell for the extra sensitive people! I’ve also been using it everyday under my makeup and find that it doesn’t interfere with my makeup application and texture.
Would give it 5 stars if it came in SPF 50!
  51. Excellent

    Jenepher

I absolutely love this product. It is wonderful under makeup or just by itself. No shine no residue. Love this one so much I am going to but the serum as well in the range.
  52. Great product, smell was initially off putting

    Alex

I really like the texture and coverage of this sunscreen, so great to be able to get a high SPF mineral sunscreen that doesn't feel thick or leave a mask on your skin. The only downside initially was the smell, it's quite strong and I could smell it for hours after the initial application. It has however grown on me after using it for a few weeks to the point where I don't notice it anymore!
  53. Best sunscreen i've tried

    Sel

This sunscreen is probably the best I have ever used. It is fragrance free, light weight, and very moisturising. It doesn't break me out either, which is usually the case for most sunscreens.
  54. Amazing for sensitive skin!

    Renee

This is my new favourite sunscreen. I normally only wear physical sunscreens as I react to chemical sunscreens, but I find it hard to find a product with a good texture. This product feels lovely on the skin and is not at all sticky. It is not tinted but I find it improves the look of my skin because it has a great matte finish. Smells good too. Love it.
  55. Good but not great

    Lyndal

I really wanted this to be my holy grail sunscreen but alas, the search continues. I have an oily skin type and I was looking for at least a 30 spf sunscreen that was going to keep me relatively matte and not break me out. This sunscreen did manage to do those things however the scent is a horrible mix of rose, chemical and that iconic sunscreen smell. It is super strong and I can smell it all day which will unfortunately trigger a migraine.
It does have a pinkish tint to it and while it works nicely on my very fair skin tone I do see it being an issue for others. Overall this sunscreen does look nice on the skin and doesn't break me out however I can't get it to pair nicely with makeup and the scent is very hard to look past. It works well for me on days when I'm not wearing makeup and can look past the scent.
  56. a physical sunscreen which is easy to rub in

    Nikki

physical screen is the type of sunscreen I lean towards. However it can be hard to come by one which is 1) easy to apply and 2) works well with make up. This sunscreen fits my requirements. However I agree with the comments that it does sting quite a bit when applied (and I don't have sensitive skin) and it has a very obvious smell too but this dissipates soon after.
  57. Finally a great Mineral Sunscreen!

    KJ

So we finally have a great mineral sunscreen, but lets get the bad out of the way first. THE SMELL. I don't know what is going on, but considering this is probably a choice for people with sensitive skin, allergies etc it is rather noxious. I have scent sensitivity, (I will get a headache being in the vicinity of someone on the train wearing strong perfume), and even with the initial scent I have found that after about 5-10 minutes it dissipates. Thank goodness because this sunscreen is FAB! I love it is zinc, but the consistency is very easy to rub in, not chalky or too thick. It doesn't make the skin feel greasy or shiny, works well with make-up and dries quickly. I have always struggled to find something that works without breaking me out / giving me a rash etc, so I am really glad I tried this one as I will use it everyday. I am only taking a star off for the smell.
  58. Stings a little

    Sophie

I like the consistency of this sunscreen and for a mineral sunscreen, it doesn't leave as much white as others. The only thing is that it stings slightly. I do have sensitive skin, but usually don't have a problem with other sunscreens. I probably would try their queen screen instead next time.
  59. Sunscreen search is over!

    Anna

I purchased this and their serum. I love both!! This one I feel for me would be more of daily use product (2 pumps were enough for my face) as the serum I preferred to use if I was planning on having a little more sun exposure (being SPF 50). This surprisingly leaves no sunscreen residue at all like most if not all sunscreens do.
  60. MY SEARCH IS OVER!

    M

My search for a good physical SPF is over. I did not have high hopes, as I have spent so much money over the past few months trying to find a good facial SPF. All the products I have tried have claimed to be 'non-greasy', 'light' and 'good under makeup'. I have been so disappointed by each and every one.
But finally, I have found my holy grail sunscreen. One of my biggest concerns is finding a sunscreen that plays nicely with my makeup. I always wear MAC studio fix powder and so many of the sunscreens that I have tried make me look awful, greasy, cakey and patchy.
This sunscreen left the SLIGHTEST white cast on my skin, but I do mean SLIGHT, I have dark skin so I think that is why. I was initially afraid of the beige, tinted colour but it blends in perfectly and does not leave any colour on the skin (so I think this sunscreen will be suitable for all skin tones). The sunscreen was not greasy, my makeup went on perfectly, my oily skin was kept under control and the sunscreen feels light, just like a moisturiser. I am in love with this product, it is everything I have been looking for, and more. If you are looking for a good physical sunscreen, look no further.
  61. Good for a physical face sunscreen... meh for a face sunscreen in general

    Mia

I wanted to love this product as I would prefer to use a mineral SPF and I had high hopes for how this would work on my oily, problem-prone skin. To begin with, the scent is really strong for me and I don't think it's pleasant. This sunscreen has a pink tint to it which made me uncertain about it as I've tried mineral formulas with a tint before and have experienced the same problem... it just never fully disappears. You can tell there is a pink hue to my face and it's pretty noticeable as I have olive skin. I found this sunscreen also collected in areas like the tip of my nose, sides of my nose and creases in my neck, which isn't the best look. I have not tried this under makeup but I don't believe I'd even want to as this formula is heavy feeling on its own and already doesn't sit well on my face. I think if you have cooler undertones and really oily skin this may work for you. I will say though that this does a great job at controlling oil throughout the day and is probably the least problematic of mineral face sunscreens I've tried.
  62. Lovely sunscreen, shame about the smell

    Angela

THE GOOD: I like the texture of this sunscreen, and the fact that it doubles as a primer and moisturizer. It also seems to keep the shine away, which is great. The packaging is good -- the tube is a perfect size with a pump that dispenses just enough product.

THE BAD: It's got a rosy, old-lady perfume smell that seems to linger for at least a few hours after application. The smell is probably used to mask the traditional sunscreen smell (which I would personally prefer), but I really don't like it. I guess there are two types of people in the world: those who like rosy smells, and those who prefer clean/fresh/citrusy smells. I'm definitely the latter and I wish the smell had been outlined on the product page as I avoid all rose-smelling products with a passion!

I will continue to use the product but may not re-purchase based on the smell.
  63. An SPF my skin agrees with!

    Emma

My skin has been prone to dermatitis in the past two years and I have been using a chemical SPF recommended by my doctor. But I noticed it was causing irritation around my chin and I was getting small breakouts. As soon as I heard about Ultra Violette’s launch on Adore and their inclusion of a mineral, physical SPF, I placed an order! I love Clean Screen! In just one week my irritations are healing and no new breakouts. It is lovely to apply- consistency is between a serum and a cream and I find my skin is comfortable all day long (I am on the oilier side). I use it down my neck and chest too, and it doesn’t cause splotchy redness like some other SPF can. Wouldn’t agree that it is a matte finish but definitely doesn’t leave a greasy/ shiny layer and is perfect under makeup or on its own.

Could not recommend highly enough to others with sensitive or dermatitis prone skin!
  64. Sensitive skins, rejoice!

Right off the bat, staff review, I know, I'm sorry, but I promise you my review is genuine.

I'm a sunscreen everyday no exceptions, completely spoilt with Japanese sunscreens, already have an expensive holy grail and will stick to it my whole life probably, kinda person. So no - Ultra Violette wont convert me the way it seems to have converted the rest of the office, haha.

So.... why am I still giving this a five star rating?

I used to work in customer service here at Adore, and if there was one product I'd recommend to customers, it'd be a really good sunscreen. My problem was, so many people would come to me with problems like rosacea, and hyper sensitive skin that couldn't use traditional chemical sunscreens.

The problem was... we had one really good mineral one that I loved, and of course, it got DISCONTINUED AAAAAARGH!!! So I'm really glad there's a mineral, non-chemical, sensitive skin safe option again.

This is generally recommended for combination to oily skin types - I wouldn't say it's perfectly mattifying but it does have a satiny, velvety finish. If your skin is more normal to dry, or dehydration prone, I'd highly recommend you use this with a hyaluronic acid serum. If your skin is super dry, you could totally rock this with a something like squalene underneath.

Channeling my 10 year old self with this Hilary Duff track. Let me tell you the ♪ pigment of truth beneath my skin ♪

I have oily-ish/normal acne prone skin and have always found sunscreens to be a necessary evil, so I'd just let the heavy, gross, sticky feeling ♪ wash away my sanity ♪

Clean Screen is a game changer - ♪ the stars are all aligned ♪

It's light on the skin, mattifying and sinks right in!

Not my favourite smelling product, but totally worth all the benefits!
  66. The best Physical Sunscreen I've ever tried

    Danii (Adore Beauty Staff)

I'm not usually one for big claims (ask anyone in the office!) but Clean Screen is a game changing sunscreen for me. When it comes to Mineral/Physical Sunscreens, I've tried a few doozies in my time, but this one is DIFFERENT. Having the fortune of using this all throughout Summer, my normal/combination skin is typically shinier when it's hot so anything mattifying is a welcome. This SPF30 was my daily MVP, and as a zinc-based, mineral sunscreen, it held up against those 40-degree days and my frequent weekend visits to the beach. No pilling, no cake-ing, no white cast, no break outs. Perfect under makeup. It's so good as a Physical/Mineral, it's hard to believe! The fragrance ensures it does not smell like a typical sunscreen, and while it can be fragrant upon application, does not linger.
  67. I've been converted

    Rebecca (Adore Beauty Staff)

I am one of the sinners in the office that didn't wear sunscreen on a daily basis.
The reason was that I have oily skin and wear full coverage foundation, an equation that no sunscreen I have tried could fit into.
    Until I tried Clean Screen!
Absolutely no greasy feeling after applying, this sunscreen feels more like a nice moisturiser or primer.
I don't feel inconvenienced to add it into my morning routine.
I recommend Clean Screen for those of us with oily skin that want to do the right thing, but haven't found a product that would co-operate :)
  68. Not for my skin type

    Alexina (Adore Beauty Staff)

I really wanted to love this more than I did - I like physical sunscreens a lot - but I just found this not hydrating enough for me.

Even with a good hyaluronic serum and rich moisturiser underneath my skin still felt dry during the day and I was spritzing it with a face spray like no-one’s business. I certainly don’t think is a bad product (far from it), it’s just not the right one for me.
