Fact: I'm obsessed with a very good new foundation. Only, it's not technically new...
MAC's iconic 'face and body' foundation has been a best-seller for years. Only now, it's even better after undergoing a bit of a glow up.
Same beloved formula. New, more inclusive shades. Plus, a fancy new name that summarises what this foundation is all about... radiance.
Keep scrolling for your recap of why you're missing out if you haven't yet tried MAC Studio Radiance Face & Body Foundation (formerly known as MAC Face & Body).
I'm calling it: It's the only foundation I'll be wearing for the indefinite future.
What Is MAC Studio Radiance Face & Body Foundation?
But what actually makes it so damn good, you ask? Here's just a couple of reasons:
The ultimate 'no makeup makeup' foundation, now in 30 inclusive shades that cater for different skin tones and undertones.
Delivers sheer to medium buildable coverage with a natural radiant finish that gives the skin a lit from within glow, without shimmer.
This foundation is water-proof and long-wearing for eight hours. It also doesn't oxidise, which means the shade of the foundation won't change throughout the day.
Lightweight, hydrating formula is ultra comfortable to wear and can be easily blended into the skin using fingers, a makeup brush or a sponge.
Natural-looking coverage evens out skin tone and minimises the appearance of redness, acne and blemishes.
Non-comedogenic formula is suitable for all skin types, including those with sensitised skin and acne-prone skin.
Here's a quick before and after comparison of how my skin looks after applying one layer of MAC Studio Radiance Face & Body.
My skin still looks like skin (freckles included!), but with an even, luminous coverage that makes me look like I get 8 hours sleep every night.
I'm wearing the shade C1 Light Cool, which is described as being a 'rosy beige with a neutral undertone for light skin.'
How to Choose Your MAC Studio Radiance Face & Body Shade.
Previously, this foundation only came in 13 shades. Now, you've got 30 to choose from in the same cult formula!
These shades range from extra light to dark deepest, but more importantly, you can also match your skin's undertone, which is the hue that sits underneath your skin tone.
Undertones can be broken down into three main categories: N (neutral), W (warm) and C (cool).
The easiest way to find your colour match is to use the Findation shade-matching tool (which you'll find under the shade selector on the product page).
You'll enter other foundation shades you've used before, and the algorithm will match you with your closest shade.
Really, you can apply this foundation however you want, depending on A) the amount of coverage you're after and B) how lazy you're feeling.
If you like applying foundation with your fingers, MAC Executive Director of Makeup Artistry Lyne Desnoyers suggests rubbing a small amount between your fingers like you would with a moisturiser to "allow the foundation to warm up and blend into the skin for a speedier, more seamless finish."
I like to apply with a flat stippling brush, and another makeup artist tip - start with less, and then press more product into the skin where you want to build up more coverage using the tip of the brush.
Adore's Social and Content Coordinator Megan, who also happens to be a makeup artist, suggests oily skin types should lightly powder areas where they know they produce more sebum (oil). This will increase longevity, while also keeping the dewy, radiant finish.
You can watch this video below for more application tips from Megan!
And that is basically everything you need to know about this foundation!
But if you haven't already added it to cart, here are just a few glowing reviews for MAC Studio Radiance Face & Body Foundation...

Super huge bottle and great value for money! It’s quick and easy to apply and super light coverage. I love this for days I don’t want too much makeup on. It just evens out your face and covers redness. It works great with both a buffing brush and beauty blending sponge! Heaps of shades and is a satin dewy skinlike finish ❤️

I’m in love with this foundation. It’s the only one I really use. It’s VERY sheer, so if you have a lot you would like to cover this may not be for you. It’s also very luminous, so I’m not sure if people with oily skin would enjoy it much. It’s easy to apply and build into a fuller coverage, and looks JUST like natural skin, just flawless. I apply ...

This is my new holy grail foundation. I’ve tried so many foundations over the years. My skin is very dry, textured and sensitive and even the most hydrating foundations settle in my fine lines, crease and enlarged my pores. This is a lighter coverage than I’m use to but it looks so natural on me. It doesn’t crease or enlarge my pores. It also match...
