In Partnership With people4ocean
When I was in kindergarten, I proudly pulled the roll-on sunscreen my mum had packed in my bag out for show and tell. It’s only fitting now, twenty-five years later, that I’m showing and telling you about
people4ocean’s sustainable sun care range.
Founded in 2018 (and newly added to
Adore Beauty’s SPF offering), this Aussie brand is on a mission to better protect, nurture and restore our skin – and help our oceans in the process.
* Before we continue, please note this very important message from the Cancer Council Australia:
No single sunscreen blocks all UV radiation. Sunscreen should always be the last line of defence. Use it in combination with other forms of sun protection: sun smart clothing, hats, shade, and sunglasses for all-round coverage.

people4ocean SPF30 Iridescent Sunscreen

If greasy, heavy and sticky are the first words that come to mind when you think mineral sunscreens, listen up. people4ocean’s new SPF 30 Iridescent Sunscreen is a moisturising but fast-absorbing SPF that doesn’t tick those unwanted boxes. Instead, it delivers an iridescent finish – as the name suggests – with minimal white cast.
Plus, it’s packed with antioxidants like pink micro algae and beta-carotene (a pro-vitamin A compound) to help protect against solar damage and environmental stressors, along with essential oils to nourish and calm your skin.
As an enthusiastic SPF-wearer, protecting my skin will always be enjoyable. But the light scent of lavender, ylang ylang and patchouli makes the experience feel a little more luxe. Like a fancy spa treatment your aunt just gifted you for Christmas. Makes sense, considering the brand was co-created by marine biologists and spa skincare specialists.
people4ocean SPF 50+ STICK IT | TINTED LIGHT Sunscreen Stick
If you’re super athletic, I’m filthy jealous. But I’ll fill you in on this sunscreen regardless.
people4ocean’s waterproof SPF 50+ zinc stick is designed to protect extra sensitive areas (like your cheekbones, nose, ears, scars, and tattoos) during intensive outdoor activities. It’s formulated with natural pigments that visibly cover the skin, so you can see exactly where it’s been applied.
Think of it like a spot applicator – something you’d use on top of your facial sunscreen to target specific, high-exposure areas while you’re swimming, surfing, sweating, etc. Probably not while you’re nipping down to Coles.
Since my mum always kept my kinder bag kitted, it seemed fair that I shared my sunscreen stash with her.
Proof: pictured.

Mum’s seventy-one and has super sensitive skin. She also wears SPF religiously, along with big floppy hats (usually of the Bunnings variety) whenever she’s outside in the garden.
I can’t say her outdoor activities are that intensive, but the stick applicator makes it easy for her to reapply, and amp up the coverage
people4ocean Hydrate Recovery Gel
When we think sun care, we tend to overlook sun after-care. That’s where the Hydrate Recovery Gel comes in.
Formulated with organic aloe vera, sodium hyaluronate and green tea, this ultra-soothing gel works to reduce inflammation caused by UV rays, airborne pollution and daily oxidative stress.
Slather it on daily to boost hydration and help support your skin’s overall barrier function.
Always read the label. Follow the directions for use. Avoid prolonged high-risk sun exposure. Wear a hat, protective clothing and sunglasses when exposed to the sun. Re-apply frequently.
