About me

I’m a freelance journalist, beauty editor and content creator who’s had a lifelong penchant for testing lotions and potions of all kinds. I grew up on an avocado farm in the hinterland surrounding Byron Bay (Nyangbal Country) and my greatest childhood joys were slathering homemade masks on any willing faces I could find and raiding the bathroom cupboards for any new products to test.

After studying journalism and law at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, I moved to Sydney where I’ve since worked as a Beauty Writer for BEAUTYcrew and a Digital Content Editor across Marie Claire and InStyle. My words have also appeared in Vogue, Gritty Pretty, ELLE, Women’s Health - and of course here - at Adore Beauty.

I’m known for being honest and upfront (sometimes to a fault) so if you’re looking for someone to give it to you straight on which of the latest launches are worth your hard-earned coin or whether your new bangs suit you, I’m your girl.

After dealing with severe cystic acne as a teenager (so bad that I couldn’t face my own reflection in the mirror), I became rather obsessed with taking care of my skin – both from the inside and out. I’m also fascinated by the intersection between self-care and mental health, and I’m an advocate for using beauty rituals to make yourself feel good. Fashion week runways and red carpets are my favourite places to look for makeup inspiration and I’m forever admiring the artistry of Pat McGrath, Tom Pecheux, Patrick Ta and Pati Dubroff. When I’m not writing, you’ll find me languishing in the tub with a mask in my hair, one on my face and a book in hand.
