Last week, when the postie dropped off JHAG’s new Banana Rush Eau de Parfum at the office, I wanted to gauge everyone’s first impressions.
After all, bananas are usually categorized as a love-it-or-hate-it fruit. (Probably the same for banana-scented fragrances, I figured.)
The crowd reactions were mixed.
From “now I’m hungry” to “if I was trying to seduce someone, I’d make pancakes and spray this in my kitchen”, there seemed to be a lot of range (and some half-baked plans in motion).
Though, Adore’s Marketing Specialist and resident fragrance expert Laura summed it up in two true words: “So memorable.”

Now, as someone who uses maple syrup to sweeten her coffee and enjoys breakfast foods for dinner, I’m kind of the poster girl for bakery-inspired gourmands. So it’s probably not shocking to hear that I *love* this release.
It’s very likely, in fact, that Banana Rush will quickly become my new signature.
If you’re not entirely convinced that this banana-maple perfume is for you, hear me out a little more.
Just like vintage Levi’s, Banana Rush is the kind of thing that you need to try on.
Its top notes, banana and maple syrup, rush in first to boldly announce the fragrance’s dessert-like sweetness.
But as it dries down on the skin, you’re left with this warm, addictive coconut-vanilla scent that leans more milky than tropical.
This blend of coconut, vanilla, frangipani flower and sandalwood transforms a relatively overlooked fruit into an elevated scent profile. Sexy, even.
According to the brand’s website, that was creator Romano Ricci’s exact intention. “I wanted to push the banana beyond its fun image, to reveal something more sensual, more sophisticated.”
Final Verdict...
Beyond the office, I’m intent on sparking some reactions (fishing for compliments) in my 5:30pm Beginners Pilates class – a guaranteed audience of twenty-or-so people in different age demographics who don’t shy away from asking which fragrance someone has just walked in wearing.
