The Hair Oil Made Famous On The Golden Globes Red Carpet

I recently lightened my hair into a bright belayage blonde (with the help of Edwards & Co) after about 18 months between colouring. I'd become accustomed to having super low maintenance hair, so I asked Jaye Edwards to recommend the right shampoo to maintain the health of my hair, as well as the colour.

That's when I was introduced to Virtue for the first time. He recommended the Recovery Shampoo, which FYI, I now love. So, when I saw Virtue launch their brand new Healing Oil, I was very keen to try it - especially after seeing it'd been used to create Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon and Kristen Stewart's looks for the Golden Globes red carpet.

What To Expect From Virtue's Healing Oil:

Our haircare buyer, Meike was already raving about this product before it even hit the red carpet. Having overcome a serious hair disaster only recently, she quickly added the Healing Oil to her extensive routine.

  • This reparative oil softens and hydrates, while adding a glossy finish to the hair

  • It helps to repair existing damage while protecting the hair from future environmental damage

  • Has a non-greasy, lightweight, clear formula that won't weigh down fine hair or alter your colour

  • Has a beautiful fragrance of creamy coconut, refreshing yuzu and warm woods

  • It's most suited to dry, damaged and dull hair, plus it's colour-safe

  • It's certified cruelty-free, as well as free from sulfates, parabens & gluten

What's In It?

Of course, the Healing Oil contains Virtue's patented Alpha Keratin 60ku technology. This unique complex uses concepts of regenerative medicine with human keratin protein (identical to the keratin in our hair, skin, and nails) to intensively repair damage. Added antioxidant Vitamin E helps to protect the hair from damaging free radicals, UV and pollution that can cause dryness, colour fading, dullness and general damage.

Botanical extract, Tahitian Gardenia Flower Extract helps to strengthen weakened hair, while Kalahari Melon Seed Oil uses its antioxidant and hydrating properties to protect the hair, nurture dry, brittle tresses, and prevent moisture loss.

How Do You Use Virtue's Healing Oil?

I can't guarantee you'll look like Reese Witherspoon after using the Healing Oil, but Virtue creative director and celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel did use it as a pre-styling treatment on her according to The Zoe Report. Just saying.

Not only can you use the Healing Oil to add softness, manageability and protection prior to styling (running it through damp mid-lengths to ends), but you can also use it as a finishing serum to add enviable shine to the hair, reduce frizz and control flyaways.

Unlike some other oils which are heavy in texture (making them less suitable for finer hair types), this oil is lightweight enough to add to any styling routine, and has a non-greasy finish and leaves no noticeable residue or buildup on the hair.
