Have you heard? Benefit Cosmetics has a new Dual-Ended Tint Gloss!

In my view, Benefit Cosmetics is in its own league. It’s a brand you can always trust will deliver beautiful results and product, and they continue to do so as evidenced by their two new releases:

Their new dual ended Pocket Pal and their The POREfessional Concealer.

As a huge makeup girly and beauty creator, I had to put them both to the test.

Below, my first impressions, how they performed and my pro-tips for using each.

The iconic Benetint is the OG of all tints. It was always ahead of the curve (and for good reason). I have been using it for years, and to me, it’s so iconic that I even gifted a mini Benetint to all my family and friends at my bridal shower.

It has been a staple in my routine for years and remains one of the best tints for cheeks and lips.

A pro tip: use the Benetint after foundation (and before setting with powder). Trust me, this is the technique that is the reason why I no longer experience the universal problem of blush being the first product to fade.

Just when I thought the Benetint could not get any better, Benefit Cosmetics launched the Pocket Pal! It’s a dual ended tint and glaze which is about to be your new companion for on-the-go touch ups. It comes in the same 3 iconic Benetint shades: Original Rose, Raspberry and Dark Cherry (which is my personal favourite).

When I first heard the announcement, I was worried they had changed the Benetint formula. But, do not fear, it’s still the same iconic formula, just better than ever.

You can wear the tint alone for a gorgeous flush of colour, or top with the clear gloss for the juiciest looking lips. The formula remains lightweight and “water-like”, so you will not feel any product on your lip. It’s also buildable for a bold lip.

If you need more reason to love the Pocket Pal, the tint is smudgeproof and does not transfer, so you can eat, drink and talk the day away without worrying about your lips.

The gloss is an added bonus because it provides up to 8 hours of hydration, and the clear nature of the gloss provides for a mess free, quick application (without the fuss of finding a mirror).

The Benetint is known for its longwear staining power, but even with the gloss, the tint does not budge at all!

I love a good multi-tasking product so the fact that I can use the Pocket Pal on my cheeks too was an instant yes from me! It’s so compact and portable for on the go, I guarantee it will find in (almost) every one of your fun bags! 

Pro Tip: I love pairing this with a lip line for added definition and drama, or blending it with my finger for a blurred lip.

Now, I have to give a bonus shout out to the newly released POREfessional Concealer!

I’ve been using this one for a few weeks now and it’s easily kicked other concealers off my rotation.

Around this time last year I had the pleasure of getting my hands on the POREfessional Foundation which I quickly fell in love with. My skin looks airbrushed every single time I use it! The POREfessional concealer is a little pocket-rocket version of the foundation.

The last thing anyone wants is a concealer that settles into fine lines and/or leaves a cakey finish. The thing that sets this concealer apart from many on the market is that it has a flexible formula so it’s perfect to use under your eyes. The formula also has hyaluronic acid which combats against the heavy, cakey look.

If you have acne-prone and/or oily skin, this concealer is non-comedogenic which leaves a breathable finish. For a concealer that is full coverage that is still so wearable and comfortable, Benefit Cosmetics has aced this formula!

A little goes a long way so be sure to build on the product for the most gorgeous, soft-focus finish.

Pro Tip: If you are after a brightening look, I would recommend getting one shade lighter than your skin. But, if you are after a concealer for spot treating, then definitely match it to your skin tone. All in all, this concealer is perfect no matter how you use it.

A fun bonus is the applicator’s unique teardrop shape which contours your undereye perfectly, with trilobal fibres to deliver the smooth, blurred finish.

I love shade 5N, it’s the perfect light neutral for my medium skin tone.
