Take the *stunning* Anastasia Beverly Hills palettes.
Let's dive even deeper and do a quick cost breakdown to make sure you are getting the best bang for your buck.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Primrose Palette retails for $82.
There are 12 shades, 2 of those being blushes, so that's less than $7 per shade.
If you are using 70-90% of the shades, you are WINNING!
OK, that's far too much math for my liking, time to get creative!
Let's do some eyeshadow tutorials and see how many gorgeous makeup looks we can create with the one palette.
Look 1. Quick Peachy-Pink Wash.
For this look, I used the blush shade “Grapefruit” as an all-over wash of colour on the eyelid and blended it out into the crease using a soft round tip blending brush.
With whatever product was left on the brush, I placed the colour around my bottom lash line too.
This defines the eye, without adding liner in the waterline.
I then added the shade “Rose Water” as a pop of shimmer to brighten the inner corners of the eye.
I finished the look off with the same shade “Grapefruit” blush dusted on the apples of the cheeks for a fresh look.
Look 2. Eyeshadow as Eyeliner.
One of my favourite techniques with most palettes is to use the deeper shades as eyeliner.
Here I applied “Deep Berry” as a liner with a damp angle brush. I applied the liner on the very outer corner of my eye.
This is a more casual liner look, and it helps to elongate the eye without the heaviness (or stress) of a full liquid liner.
The warm, skin tone shade “Honey” was applied all over the lid and “Saddle” as a bronzer and “Grapefruit” as the blush.
Look 3. Soft Glam Eyeshadow.
This look has the shimmery ”Rose Water” shade all over the eye base.
I love the shimmers in this palette, they are easy to use, very pigmented and have minimal fallout.
I pressed this shade on with a flat, firm synthetic brush, before adding “Primrose” in the crease of my eye using a rounded tip blending brush.
This technique helps to define the eye shape and is a great way to create a soft, sculpted eye look.
I finished this look off with “Grapefruit” on the cheek, with a dusting of “Peony” to add a slight pink, gold sheen.
Look 4. Warm Matte Eyeshadow.
This quick matte peachy eye is one of my favourite go-to looks.
First, I take “Mango” and blend it all over the eye out towards the crease.
I find when I'm using a palette, I always want to add more because there are so many options. But you've gotta learn to restrain yourself from always adding more (argh, I need to take this advice too!).
On the cheeks, I used “Saddle” as a bronzer and blush colour. I also added “Sparkling Amber” on top of the cheeks, too.
See, I need to show restraint!
Look 5. Warm Smokey Eye.
This is a real smokin’ fireball look.
For this, I applied “Sparkling Amber” on the inner corner of the eye, and “Fire Opal” pressed on the rest of the lid.
These are the two warmer shimmery shades in the palette. Both applied with a flat and firm brush.
Pro tip: I found using my fingertips to press the shimmers on created a really intense colour payoff.
I smoked out the outer corners and under my eye with the darker shade “Rouge”, and also added a black kohl pencil in the inner water line to define the eyes more.
“Saddle” is applied to the tops of the cheek, and "Grapefruit” is lightly dusted on the apples to add a more pink, coral brightness to my face.
So there you have it, there is my Anastasia Beverly Hills Primrose Palette review, with 5 different makeup looks making the most of all the shades in one multi-use makeup palette.
Honestly, I could go on and on, but I think I’ll stop there for now.
In total, I used 9 out of the 10 eyeshadows in the Anastasia Beverly Hills multi-use makeup palette, and both fo the cheek shades.
Talk about money well spent!
