CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF 50 52ml proves to be a lightweight, non-greasy everyday moisturiser with broad UVA/UVB protection and no white cast, so it’s a good fit for fair, sensitive skin. The review covers a two-week road test, how it layers under makeup, reapplication behaviour and its use as a carry-along touch-up SPF.

When you know what you need, nothing more nothing less, CeraVe’s probably got it.
I’m picky, I have sensitive skin, and I like my skincare to be quick and easy. So, I’m always on the lookout for straightforward, simple products that do exactly what they promise to.
When I found out CeraVe was releasing a new facial moisturiser, with SPF50 no less, I was very keen to give it a go.
I’ve been road testing for a little over two weeks now, and my sensitive skin has not thrown a hissy fit, so we’re off to a good start!
Before I go into my review, I will mention that I am very fair skinned (obviously) and pretty scared of the sun.
This product is primarily an SPF, however while wearing it outside I did pair it with my usual SPF just to be extra careful.
My usual SPF is a big bottle at home, so I loved carrying this little CeraVe with me for extra touch ups throughout the day.
I cannot stress this enough (but will continue to do so): always wear your SPF50, try your best to touch up every few hours.
Now that we have that little disclaimer out of the way, let’s get into it...

My CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF 50 Review.

Sometimes, when combining a moisturiser and SPF into the one, I find these to be too thick, too yellow, too shiny. None of that here!
The CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF50 is a nice, smooth consistency, perfect for everyday wear. Even after reapplying a few times throughout the day, using big pumps, I didn’t feel greasy by the end of the day.
This was especially good while I was taking advantage of Melbourne’s last sunny days and going on walks. The CeraVe Facial Moisturiser was my constant companion.
(Look at me being sun smart with my hat and my CeraVe sunscreen in my bag!)
The cream never felt heavy on my skin and didn’t cause me to break out, as some combinations of SPF and my sweating can do.
As I mentioned, I still used my usual SPF in the mornings, but I’m really enjoying this as simply a facial moisturiser. True to its word, this product doesn’t have a white cast and is non-greasy.
Plus, I wore it to a black tie event and decided to give it a go beneath my makeup. Flawless! My powder foundation didn’t peel, get creasy, or dry me out.
All in all, I was pleased with the way this product made me feel all day long: hydrated and happy.
