What's my Daydream Screen shade? I alternate between shade V6 and V7.
Considering I’m easily on the lighter side of the medium skin tone category, it’s concerning that I fall somewhere in the middle of their shade range.
That being said, I do think we need to give the brand credit where credit is due.
They’ve tackled a tough category, and I haven’t seen any other brand attempt a tinted sunscreen or do it half as well as Ultra Violette have.
Plus, the founders acknowledged from the outset that more shades were to be released in 2022.
The shade range isn’t ideal. It’s a step in the right direction.
Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to seeing what a shade V12 and beyond, and everything in between, looks like.
My Ultra Violette Daydream Screen Review.
With so much hype around the launch, I was pretty excited and a little scared to try Ultra Violette Daydream Screen.
Mainly because the last time I tried a tinted SPF out, I measured the recommended amount for adequate sun protection, a quarter teaspoon...
I ended up looking like Ross from Friends after he’s had six coats of fake tan sprayed on him.
No word of a lie. But onwards!
Daydream Screen comes in a squeezy tube bottle with a pink lid. It’s minimal, practical, and very on brand.
It has a serum-like texture that's runny and a bit drippy.
I apply using a firm makeup sponge, but you might prefer fingers.
Adore's Senior Editor Amy Clark finds she gets the best finish using a flat buffing foundation brush, so have a play and see what works best for you!
Layering the skin tint over your sunscreen is seamless (no pilling or balling up), which doesn’t surprise me considering how formulation-forward the brand is.
One thing I would take note of is Daydream Screen may oxidise ever so slightly on your face if left to sit unblended for a couple of minutes.
However, this is completely normal and disappears once it’s rubbed in.
The finish is definitely on the more luminous, dewy side. I'd say it's most similar to their Queen Screen SPF50+ sunscreen serum, without the rose scent.
As someone who LOVES a glowy base, I adored this and found my combination skin lapped it up.
However, if you have oily skin, you may benefit from lightly setting this with some powder.
Here's what Daydream Screen looks like on my skin.
Final Verdict on Daydream Screen…
It’s been three months since Daydream Screen from Ultra Violette landed on my doorstep.
If I’m being honest, I love it as much as I did the first time I put it on.
Will it replace your sunscreen? Nope.
Could it replace your everyday foundation? Sure, but only if you're after light coverage with a dewy finish.
If you're looking for something that'll add life back into your face with very little effort, this product is it.
