In my many years as a hairdresser (and a blonde), I’ve tried countless blonding products.
From purple shampoos that stain your nails and toning masks, to blonde hair oils and treatments, I feel like my hair and I have seen it all.
And yet still to this day, I’m continually impressed by the new products for blonde hair that professional haircare brands are coming up with.
With SO MANY BLONDE PRODUCTS to choose from - literally, we have a
whole category on the website dedicated to blonde hair - it's hard to know where to start.
All good blonde products and purple shampoos should neutralise warm, brassy tones.
I love a super pigmented product, but I also don't want to still be cleaning it off the bathroom tiles a week later, y'know?
For me, the thing that takes a blonde product from 'meh' to a staple in my routine is how it makes my hair feel.
Because blonde hair can have a tendency to look a bit dull, I look for shiny, swishy lightness when road-testing new blonde hair products.
But alas, I only have one head of hair, which is why I rallied up some of the other blondes in the Adore Beauty office to help me review three new (and very exciting!!) toning products for blondes.
From a conditioner to match a cult blonde shampoo, to the first ever blonde products from our most popular natural hair brand, keep scrolling to read our reviews before you inevitably add to cart.
1. ELEVEN Australia Purple Conditioner, $27.95.

Who: Millie (me!), Customer Experience Team.
What: ELEVEN Australia Keep My Blonde Conditioner 300ml - A conditioner version of the brand's cult ELEVEN purple shampoo and treatment products.
Why it's a winner:
This new ELEVEN blonde conditioner honestly matches
NAK Hair Platinum Blonde Anti-Yellow Shampoo 375ml which is my one true blonde love. Big call,
I know.
Trust me when I say, fans of the OG
ELEVEN Australia Keep My Colour Blonde Shampoo 300ml will want to get their hands on the matching conditioner ASAP.
It has a sweet, semi floral scent that reminds me of lollies and makes me smile in the shower! The formula feels super light in the hair, and for my fellow fine-haired friends, it won't weigh our hair down (yay!).
This blonde conditioner is perfect for anyone wanting to support a toning shampoo with a matching conditioner, or if you prefer subtle toning in a hydrating formula over a drying purple shampoo.

2. R+Co SUNSET BLVD Toning Masque, $59.

Who: Simon, Data & Analytics Team.
What: R+Co SUNSET BLVD Blonde Toning Masque 167ml - A softening blonde toning treatment that neutralises brassiness while feeling like a deeply nourishing hair mask.
Why it's a winner:
"When it comes to toning my hair, I look for a blue to purple toner that will help to neutralise the brassy tones left behind when I get my naturally brown hair bleached. Vegan and cruelty-free are also a must for me, as are wholesome ingredients that can nourish my hair when toning (not immediately) after a colouring session."
"R+Co’s Sunset BLVD toning masque became my new best friend the minute it gave me the ashy look I've only ever experienced after a visit to the salon. The masque’s consistency was perfect for applying across my hair evenly, and it didn't leave behind any build up or unwanted leftover blue tones."
"Not only did the wash-out masque make my hair feel incredibly soft - even before conditioner - but it left an added surprise of a fruity-fresh scent."

3. Aveda Purple Shampoo, $51.

Who: Amelia, Brand & Planning Team.
What: The new blonde range from Aveda, including...
Why they're winners:
"Aveda has been my go-to hair brand for years (literally, it's how I pick my hairdressers). Looking after my blonde regularly is super important to me, so I've previously been using a purple shampoo from a different brand religiously once a week alongside my regular Aveda shampoo and conditioner to maintain my colour."
"I was thrilled to road-test the new blonde products to see how they compare to the Aveda quality I'm used to. The first difference I noticed... this Aveda blonde shampoo smells amazing!"
"It leaves my hair feeling silky soft, which can be very hard for highly-bleached blondes like me. Plus, it managed to tame my flyaways - a nice bonus I wasn't expecting. The Aveda blonde shampoo is now a part of my weekly haircare routine. Sorted."
