My Maybelline Sky High Mascara Review.
Alrighty, so let's start with the Sky High mascara wand. Because it's not like other wands.
The tapered 'Flex Tower' brush is ridiculously bendy and flexible, and features lots of individual bristles to make coating every single teeny tiny lash with product really easy.
To get the viral TikTok Sky High look, one must coat their lashes with the mascara three times. So that's what I did. Please enjoy this video montage of how that went down:
The formula is fairly thin (as are most mascaras when you first open them) and a lot comes out on the brush, so I like to start by wiping off excess product on the side of the tube or a tissue.
The first coat of mascara grabbed onto and lengthened all of my lashes - even the hard to reach ones in the inner and outer corners. The result wasn't as separated and defined as I usually like, but still lovely.

I also found the bendy-ness of the wand a bit too flexible for me as I like being able to push my lashes right from the roots upwards when applying mascara. Doing this with a more rigid brush makes getting mascara all over your eyelids less likely.
A minute or so later, on went the second coat of mascara. Going from one to two coats was a lot - like how I imagine going from one to two babies is hectic, but in a good way?
This second coat of mascara gave me that viral volume everyone's been talking about, and made my lashes look thick, black and glossy. Don't mind the up the nose shot.

Finally, I added a third coat and BAM. Even more length and volume. The final coat also clumped a few of my lashes together. From my experience, the more coats of mascara you add, the less defined and separated the lashes will be, but that's what gives you that dramatic Sky High look.
As for staying power and longevity, this mascara didn't flake or smudge for me at all, which was surprising considering just how much product my lashes were carrying. I also found it semi-difficult to remove, but nothing a double cleanse with an oil cleanser couldn't budge.

So, is this Maybelline Sky High mascara worth the viral TikTok hype?
This wouldn't be my everyday mascara choice, but would I wear it at an evening event or to da club? Yes. (And yes, I just wrote da club.)
But if you're after long, thick, bold lashes even Google could see from the moon, three coats of this product will give you just that.
