This is a lovely serum for my combination skin type. It provides vitamins and makes my skin glow. I love how it works in conjunction with other serums. I was worried that an oil based vit-c would break out or burn my oily sensitive skin - but with the ordinary's cheap price point I thought I might as well give it a go. Oh boy this product has done wonders for my skin. My skin is noticeably brighter and the linoleic acid oil vehicle has made the oil from my skin more shiny and sleek rather than greasy. I recommend this vitamin c serum. It has a clear consistency, does not have a strange fragrance and is perfect under sunscreen. I do suggest not wearing too many products if you are using this vitamin c as it can pill and react with other products.Made me breakout! :(
I bought this because of all the great reviews but........ I’m very lucky, I never get pimples.... like maybe 1 every 6 months (and even then it’s tiny). When I first purchased I used to mix it in with my other serums but later discovered your water based ordinary products (hyaluronic acid, buffet ect) should be applied first and then the oil goes over the top. Unfortunately for me this oil based vitamin c was not good for my combination skin. Tried using on two separate occasions and the next day i had pimples especially blind pimples i get very rarely as well.. tried on my chest the third time and caused whiteheads which i definitely don't get in that area. This is my second bottle and I purchased two this time one for my mother too. This does the job well and is honestly one of the best affordable serums I have ever used. I used to use the body shop's drops of youth beforehand and that used to cost me $50. This is much nicer and well priced.I prefer The Ordinary's other Vitamin C Products
This product is ok. I haven't seen the same brightening results I saw from the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% or the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%.

I badly wanted to love TO as it has so many products at such an awesome price point but I haven't loved any of their stuff that I've tried, this one included.
It made me break out (which is unusual for me) and upset my sensitive skin, although I have no trouble with other Vit C's that I've tried.

Pills like crazy. Tried so many different ways to use it - before cream, after cream, by itself, left to dry completely then cream. It doesn't matter as it doesn't skin into my skin. Used so many times, not cannot see any effect. Unfortunately doesn't work for me.Effective and good value.

My skin is easily irritated by Vitamin C Products, and I have tested a dozen or so before this one, my search is now over. This is a great resource for Vitamin C, especially if like me your skin doesn't always react well to it. This gives you a lovely dewy radiance and absorbs quickly without causing any stinging or redness. If you're using it after a hyaluronic acid make sure it has fully absorbed otherwise a lot of pilling will occur the moment you apply this.
