Getting engaged/married can be one of THE happiest times of your life…but we know that it can also be filled with LOTS of questions and many decisions that all need to be made whilst riding a rollercoaster of emotions.

When I got engaged, I wished there was a one-stop shop for wedding planning advice.

SO, we decided to create a podcast called Bride To Be that will guide you through every step of your wedding planning journey.

Join the amazing Tayla Broad and I as we take you through our personal bridal journeys, PLUS, we drop all the wedding planning tips you need from the best experts in the industry.

After co-hosting this podcast I can safely say that I picked up a few hot tips that I NEED to share.

Here are five things you need to know if you’re planning a wedding…

1. Unfollow Other Vendors Once You’ve Locked In Yours.

This tip goes out to all of our indecisive besties out there.

If you found yourself tossing up between multiple photographers or stylists or videographers, we recommend unfollowing your shortlist once you’ve made a decision and locked in your vendor.

This helps you ease into your decision with grace and excitement and will minimise any second-guessing or FOMO monsters in the lead-up to the big day.

2. No New Procedures on the Week of the Wedding.

Whilst it can be tempting to try a new beauty regime or treat yourself to special goodies as the day gets closer, the week of the wedding is not the time to be going rogue!

We totally understand that this is the time you want to pull out all the stops, so we recommend trialling any new products or treatments at least four weeks before your wedding day.

This way, even if you do have a bit of an unexpected reaction to a new product or treatment, you’ve got plenty of buffer time to get yourself looking and feeling your best for the big day.

3. Budgeting.

Let’s be frank, getting married is amazing but the wedding itself can be an expensive exercise.

Before you even get to set a budget, a great first step should be having an open and honest conversation with your partner about how you both envisage the wedding day and what each of your non-negotiables are.

Once you have a clear picture of what is most important to each of you, your budget can be guided by your values and what each of you deems is most important on the day.

4. Make Sure Your Whole Body Is Hydrated (Not Just Your Face!).

Hydrated skin is happy skin!

Be sure to trial a few hydrating sheet masks in the months leading up to your big day and once you’ve found a winner, slap that baby on an hour or two before your glam session starts.

Whilst we are generally pretty good at taking care of the skin on our faces, scaly legs and dehydrated arms can often get kicked to the curb when it comes to hydrating.

Be sure to share the moisturising love around to your legs and body!

5. Remember That This Is About Your Love! Not the Perfect IG Pic.

Whilst we can all appreciate amazing tablescapes or flowing florals, the real reason everyone is gathered together at your wedding is to celebrate the amazing love that you and your partner share.

Nine times out of ten your guests probably won’t remember what colour napkins you might have had but they will always remember the tangible love that is in the room.

Let this be your north star during the planning process!
