I remember when I used to consider myself a “morning person”.

I was the type to have tidied the house, watered the plants and was onto my second cup of coffee before my partner even had the chance to rub the sleep from his eyes.

Typical Virgo behaviour, really.

Then, one day I finally caved and……………… hit the snooze button (:

From that moment on my natural waking to the sun was replaced by a series of alarms between 6.30 and 7.30 am and my cat persistently pawing at my face for me to finally rise and shine.

Blame it on my circadian rhythm or Bravo’s binge-worthy TV shows—while we’re pointing fingers, working remotely doesn’t help matters either; the temptation to sneak in a few extra Zzs…

(Unless you’re my boss reading this, in which case, forget everything I just said.)

The above chaos considered, I tend to keep my morning skincare fairly simple, reaching for products I can quickly slap on between waiting for the kettle to boil and my laptop to fire up.

On days I dabble in makeup, I opt for formulas that enhance while caring for my skin underneath.

Bonus points if they add a touch of glow to stave off the "corpse-like" appearance during team meetings—until Google introduces a "touch-up my appearance" feature à la Zoom, that is.

Recently I came across three products that truly excel in this department.

Naturally, I had to tell you all about them.

Ella Baché Rose Hydration Mist.

What: Ella Baché Rose Hydration Mist

Fast facts:

  • Lightweight mist that refreshes and rehydrates skin.

  • Doubles as a glow-inducing setting spray and makeup refresher.

  • Can be used as a toner post-cleansing to balance skin pH levels.

  • Infused with sweet-smelling rose water and hyaluronic acid to prevent and treat long-term dehydration.

My Ella Baché Rose Hydration Mist review:

First cab off the rank is this gorgeous Rose Hydration Mist by Ella Baché.

I know rose-scented skincare isn’t for everyone, but I love it.

It’s one of those fragrances that instantly comforts, like a tight hug from a loved one.

It arrived in my life just in time too: Melbourne was battling a week of 30-plus degrees–less than ideal weather for this fair-skinned writer.

So as you can imagine, I’ve been spritzing it A LOT.

Scent aside, the mist itself is super fine, providing a decent amount of product that seamlessly layers over makeup.

Its cocktail of hyaluronic acid and marine botanical extracts hydrate and plump the skin, and are reinforced with witch hazel to seal in moisture and tone pores.

It gives my skin an instant pick-me-up, leaving behind a gorgeous glow whether used as a toner or a mid-day refresher.

Compact and durable plastic packaging makes it conveniently portable, fitting snugly into my handbag for a hit of hydration to combat dryness when I'm on the go.

So if you’re searching for a refreshing mist and you don’t mind the rose, this one by Ella Bache is worth a closer look.

Ella Baché Superfluid Great SPF50+ .

What: Ella Baché Superfluid Great SPF50+ in shade 'Cream Beige'.

Fast facts:

  • Cruelty and sulphate-free.

  • SPF50+ UVA and UVB protection.

  • Thin and lightweight with a satin finish and glow to boot.

  • Infused with antioxidant-rich ingredients including green tea and Kakadu plum.

My Ella Baché Superfluid Great SPF50+ review:

Next up, we have the Ella Baché Superfluid Great SPF50.

Let me start by saying that it’s no easy feat finding a good tinted SPF moisturiser.

I typically find I love a formula but it doesn’t provide high enough sun protection, or vice versa.

Sound familiar? Good news: I think I’ve found *the one*.

Ella Baché Superfluid ticks all the boxes for my dry skin.

It's hydrating, lightweight, offers broad-spectrum SPF50+ protection, and leaves behind a satin finish that enhances my complexion and imparts a healthy glow.

That said, those with normal to oily skin might find it helpful to pair it with a setting powder to mitigate any excess shine.

Its 4-hour water resistance ensures it stays put when you’re booked and busy, and is ideal for beach outings.

Like the Rose Hydration Mist, the Ella Baché Superfluid is an overachiever.

It serves as a primer, a sheer skin tint, or a daily SPF.

It's also packed with antioxidants that offer even more protection against environmental damage from those pesky free radicals.

So if you value versatility in your skincare routine, I highly recommend adding this overachieving product to cart.

Important note: Sunscreen is only one part of sun protection so wear protective clothing and seek shade. Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours and after swimming, towelling and perspiring in accordance with directions.

Ella Baché Suncover Great SPF50 Foundation.

Ella Baché Suncover Great SPF50 Foundation Jas split Ella Baché Suncover Great SPF50 Foundation Jas split

What: Ella Bache Suncover Great SPF50 Foundation 30ml in shade 'Light Beige'.

Fast facts:

  • Medium coverage foundation with SPF50 protection.

  • Helps to even skin tone for a consistent complexion.

  • Protects lipid barrier and maintains moisture balance.

  • Enriched with green tea antioxidants, jojoba and lanolin.

  • Aids in fighting free radical damage and protects against premature ageing.

My Ella Baché Suncover Great SPF50 Foundation review:

On days I require a slightly heavier hand, I’ve been reaching for the Ella Baché Suncover Great SPF50 Foundation.

It’s fuller coverage than Superfluid, but its texture is still more akin to a skincare product than makeup. It’s lightweight, hydrating and comfortable.

I’ve been using my fingers to apply it and found it blends seamlessly into the skin and doesn’t leave a white cast.

Instead, its light-reflecting formula imparts a luminous, dewy finish that enhances the skin's natural features.

I was pretty impressed with its longevity too, staying put through humidity, heat and air-con.

The only downfall of the Ella Baché Suncover Great SPF50 Foundation is its limited shade range which limits its suitability to those with lighter skin tones.

Otherwise, it’s a solid choice for those after a SPF-infused foundation that lets your skin look like skin, only better.

Important note: Sunscreen is only one part of sun protection so wear protective clothing and seek shade. Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours and after swimming, towelling and perspiring in accordance with directions.

Final Thoughts.

Admittingly, I think I’ve been sleeping on Ella Baché.

Prior to discovering these three glow-inducing gems, my experience with the brand was limited to the salon.

Now that I’ve witnessed first-hand how beautiful and versatile their products are, I’m excited to explore the broader collection.
