I’ve always considered myself ‘bad’ at sleeping. Ever since I can remember I’ve struggled to get solid, uninterrupted Zzzs.
So much so I even had to switch childhood bedrooms with my sister for fear the boogie man would come through my window (and somehow not anyone else’s!?).
But while the nightmares have (thankfully) faded over the years, the sleepless nights have not.
Up until recently, I accepted my fate. Resenting my partner’s ability to fall asleep anywhere at any time, and stay asleep, snoring his way through many a storm, Real Housewives ep and Uber Eats delivery.
That was until I implemented a beauty sleep routine.
Now, not only am I sleeping better, but I'm waking up looking bright-eyed and bushy-tailed (whether I've gotten my eight hours or not).
While our parents and experts have long touted the importance of sleep, it often falls to the wayside as stress and other life factors come into play.
But research shows that sleep is just as important as our diet and exercise in our overall health and wellbeing. And that beauty sleep is, in fact, a thing.
In honour of World Sleep Day this month, we thought what better time to share our top beauty products and tips for getting a restful night’s sleep.
So pour yourself a cup of calming tea and let’s get ready for bed!
