Let Me Tell You Why This 3-In-1 Body Skincare Device Is 100% Worth the Money

During the various lockdowns of late (that better not be coming back!), I kind of became obsessed with body care.

For years, my face has had all the fun while my limbs watched on, dry and unloved.

Just like the meme, my cracked heels silently saw me buy face serum after face serum, wondering when it was going to be their turn.

Then, I had an epitome of sorts...

Why wouldn't you moisturise every inch of your body when you've got absolutely nothing to do and nowhere to go?

I quickly got very used to my lockdown body skincare routine, and I’m proud to share I’ve stuck with it now we can leave the house again.

Unsurprinsgly, body skin care as a category exploded in 2022, and it's set to be a key 2024 beauty trend.

There are a stack of new launches hitting shelves promising to elevate the old shower-gel-and-moisturiser routine into something special, but one in particular stood out to me.

Enter, the PMD Beauty Clean Body - Berry device I didn't know I needed.

Part loofah, part exfoliator, part cleanser and part massager, this skincare tool for your body is the gold standard in showering.

Sure, no one needs a four-in-one body care device.

But after a few weeks of continued use, I can confirm it's 100 per cent worth it.

What is PMD Beauty Clean Body?

In a nutshell, the PMD Clean Body is a four-in-one skincare tool... for your body.

The cleansing tool has a silicone bristle head on one side, and comes with these three magnetic attachments that easily snap onto the other:

  • An exfoliating loofah to gently wash and exfoliate the skin (especially in hard-to-reach places like your back!).

  • A more intense body buffer for deeper exfoliation of built up dead skin cells - perfect for areas with thicker skin like the knees, elbows and heels.

  • A body massager, because who doesn't love a good upper back and shoulder massage?

Side note - it's made by the same brand as the popular PMD microdermabrasion device.

We road-tested that too, you can read and watch our at-home microdermabrasion review below.

PMD Clean Body is water-proof and rechargeable, and works to remove bacteria, sweat and debris that often contribute to body breakouts and dry, scaly skin.

While it is expensive ($239), PMD Clean Body device is worth it given it's four tools in one.

Use it in the shower and you'll be left with clean, baby soft skin and soothed muscles, especially around the shoulders and neck.

My PMD Beauty Clean Body Review.

My current body care routine is pretty extensive, and this PMD device fits right in.

It’s relatively large and made from waterproof silicone, so it’s easy enough to grip and manoeuvre around the body.

The long handle makes it a no brainer for exfoliating your back before applying fake tan, too!

After a few weeks of testing, I’ve been enjoying using the loofah side to clean my entire body.

Then, the silicone bristles do a great job of really getting rid of sweat and bacteria on my chest, shoulders and back. The entire tool uses what’s called SonicGlow™ technology so it buzzes slightly, deepening the clean.

If it had been a long day or I was craving a little extra TLC, I’d add the massage head and use it to ease out knots in my neck, shoulders and upper back.

It wasn’t as life-changing as a professional massage, but it was certainly a nice little ritual.

I also used the exfoliating disc weekly on any dry spots.

Mostly on my feet… cute.

It only gently vibrates, so it’s not a super abrasive exfoliation, but it did do a stellar job of smoothing out my heels.

If I had the energy to use it daily, I think the results would be even better. It would also be great for reducing ingrown hairs, and smoothing out dry, flaky areas like the elbows and knees.

With ongoing use, the PMD Clean Body device left my skin super clean, soft and smooth.

My one criticism would be that you actually have to remember to use it for it to work. I know.

Even though it's water-proof, I didn’t store my PMD Clean Body in the shower because I was worried about the charging port.

Hence the need to remember to grab it off the vanity.

Honestly, you can probably achieve these results with tools that aren’t $200+, but I’d be lying if I said the PMD Beauty Clean wasn’t an absolute treat to use.

Where does it fit into my evening body care routine?

Before using the device in the shower, I like to dry body brush using a tool like SALT BY HENDRIX Dry Body Brush and lather up in L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil 500ml - an all-time favourite shower oil of mine!

When I hop out of the shower, I apply a moisturiser while my skin is still damp before locking everything in with an oil — Weleda, Kora and Jurlique are all on high rotation.

A final body care tip: Apply your rejected active face serums and creams on your body!

It’s a great way to use up anything you didn’t love, but don’t want to waste — not to mention target any body skin scarring, uneven texture or dark spots.

Final Verdict...

Overall, I’m really into this device.

It’s effective, it’s bougie and it leaves you feeling oh so soft.

Will I keep using every single attachment on this device every single night? Nope, because I'm lazy.

But it will be staying in my shower routine, for sure.

My favourite attachment is the relax massage head because I carry lots of tension in my neck and shoulders.

I also loved the loofah as it cleanses but leaves the skin smooth, too.

If you're an in-and-out showerer who hates having too many products in their routine, the PMD device probably isn't for you...

But if high-tech beauty tools get you excited, you struggle with dry skin and blemishes on your body (including backne and chest acne) or you want to get smoother body skin with zero effort, I'd add to cart.
